URGENT: Tell the QLD minister to abandon shark culls and move to non-lethal methods

The Queensland’s Fisheries Minister, Mark Furner, wants shark culls to continue in the Great Barrier Reef despite a court ruling ordering Queensland to implement non-lethal approaches towards sharks.

He’s pressuring the Australian government to change the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Act – the very law that protects our Reef – so that sharks can be culled in the Reef’s waters.

The QLD Government have got their own research, a federal court ruling, and independent scientific advice giving them a clear plan for non-lethal management of sharks.

The path forward is clear, yet the Queensland Government’s not listening.

Urge the Minister to respect the ruling.
