Our oceans, our climate, our future, these are worth fighting for. We all want a better tomorrow, where the places we love are protected for our children and grandchildren.
Whether it’s the Great Barrier Reef, Ningaloo, or the beaches and coastal waters we treasure, these places are part of who we are. They support life, sustain communities and inspire us.
But they are at risk. The choices we make today will determine how the next generations live in the future. We want to be proud of that legacy.
Rising temperatures, acidification, sea level rise and more intense storms are devastating marine ecosystems, threatening the livelihoods of coastal communities and countless species that call our waters home. But together, we can turn the tide.
Australia has everything we need to lead in climate action. With abundant sunshine, wind, and waves – and world-class science to guide decisions – we can move beyond fossil fuels and build a future powered by clean energy.
The science is clear, and the solutions are within our reach. But we need leadership that matches the scale of the crisis.
As an ocean lover, I pledge to take action for a cleaner, safer and more sustainable future.
I commit to:
- Advocate for bold climate policies that align with limiting warming to 1.5°C, including cutting emissions 90 % by 2035.
- Support the transition to renewable energy by standing against new coal and gas projects and pushing for investment in clean technologies, science and communities to support good decisions.
- Protect our oceans and marine life by calling for stronger nature laws, expanding marine protected areas, and stopping industrial developments that threaten our wildlife and fragile habitats.
- Use my voice to demand leadership from policymakers who will act decisively to secure a healthy, thriving environment for future generations.
This pledge is my commitment to being part of the solution, to use the means available to me to take climate action, and to help build momentum for real change.
Every action, every conversation and every signature brings us closer to a future where effective climate action isn’t just a goal but a reality.
The time to act is now. I stand with AMCS and hundreds of thousands of Australians in demanding urgent climate action to protect what we love.
Together, we can ensure our oceans, communities and future generations have a fighting chance.
