Meet Alexia
Alexia Wellbelove is passionate about sharing her love of nature, and the need to protect it.
From a young age Alexia was fascinated by animals and their place in the world, and has been lucky enough to enjoy the oceans and wildlife throughout her lifetime.
A zoologist by training, Alexia has been with AMCS since 2022, and now steps into the role of Campaigns Director bringing more than 25 years of environment and marine conservation experience.
This includes more than a decade of work on the reform of Australia’s environment laws.
When asked to recall a career highlight, Alexia joyously recalls securing important protections for the Australian sea lion back in 2013.
A moment she celebrated afterwards by watching these amazing animals relax on the shores of Kangaroo Island and play in the sea, knowing that more females are now able to return back to their pups.
