Meet Adele

Growing up aboard boats, traversing islands and swimming over coral reefs, Adele has cultivated a passion for affecting change – and knows firsthand what’s at stake.

Adele Pedder, AMCS’s Protected Areas Manager, first joined AMCS as Northern Australia Campaign Manager in 2003.

Adele works every day to safeguard our precious marine wildlife by advocating for the creation, expansion, and management of marine parks and sanctuaries.

When asked about her career highlights, Adele has a long list! For one, Adele led the campaign to secure the Northern Territory’s first marine park in over 30 years in Limmen
Bight Marine Park.

She was also instrumental in the construction of the Northern Territory’s first ever plan to protect coasts with the creation of the

Northern Territory Coastal and Marine Management Strategy.

If that wasn’t enough – Adele assisted in banning destructive seabed mining in NT waters – the first jurisdiction in Australia to do so.
