Sadly, this magnificent place may soon be damaged forever.
K+S corporation, based in Kassel, Germany, is currently planning to build an industrial saltworks the size of a city in Exmouth Gulf.
K+S would damage a vital part of a listed Wetland of National Importance that supports an abundance of wildlife in the Gulf to make way for salt ponds and imposing levee walls that will be many kilometres long.

Dem Golf würden auch wichtige Nährstoffe entzogen werden, die aus dem Feuchtgebiet in ihn fließen.

The calm, sheltered waters of Exmouth Gulf act as a nursery for marine life found at Ningaloo. It is a rare, globally important place that needs to be protected.
The habitat of critically endangered animals like the giant guitarfish and green sawfish would be impacted, while the Gulf will be deprived of nutrients that flow into it from this area of wetland.
