A post graduate Diploma in Outdoor Education has led to thirty five years’ experience in Environmental Education as a teacher, regional consultant, teacher in charge and now principal in Centres in South East Queensland. Expertise in sailing led Mary-Ann to her first position in Environmental Education. Currently the commodore at the South Brisbane Sailing Club where she has sailed since a childhood provides both a physical connection to the environment, relaxation and a sport she shares with her two daughters.
Mary-Ann has been on the board of the Australian Marine Conservation Society for twenty years. She is currently the Honorary Secretary a role that brings a national perspective to marine conservation while Nudgee Beach provides a local focus. A passion for the marine environment and an interest in plants has taken Mary-Ann around the world and on extensive travel within Australia. As an educator, a curriculum leader and teaching principal, Mary-Ann enjoys working with students, leading them on a journey of discovery learning about this amazing blue planet and its flora and fauna.
