Laura is a marine scientist specialising in environmental impact assessment with a particular interest in protected species/communities. With previous experience in protected area management, Laura has managed environmental assessments under state and federal legislation, optimising environmental outcomes for a variety of major projects within the infrastructure, tourism, waste and urban development sectors, as well as not-for-profit, academic and government projects. Her career has spanned plankton health research in Antarctica, tourist education on the Great Barrier Reef, industry consultation throughout Australia, and not-for-profit fundraising and project implementation. She is also an avid recreational and scientific SCUBA diver.
