Gabe is a conservationist and science communicator. He is a Master of Conservation Science graduate from the University of Queensland, including an independent research project assessing the efficacy of marine protected areas globally. He also holds a dual Bachelor Science (Honours) / Bachelor Arts degree, specialising in ecology, palaeobiology, political science, and journalism.
Gabe hosts the weekly science show Know Idea on Brisbane’s community radio station 4ZZZ and makes TikToks about wildlife and conservation. He used to co-host a podcast called Life on the Brink, telling the stories of conservation scientists and the species they are saving and loves to teach. He has tutored students studying undergraduate ecology, developed learning materials for a range of biological science courses, and taught science communication to early career researchers.
At AMCS, Gabe works with campaigners, policy experts, and scientists to produce effective communications that protect Australia’s oceans.
