About AMCS

The Australian Marine Conservation Society is the voice for Australia's oceans. We are an independent not-for profit charity. We deal with the big issues concerning the sea, working on behalf of the community to protect marine wildlife, tackle the major threats to the marine environment and create marine sanctuaries, places in the sea where our wildlife is safe from harm. We are a committed group of professional and passionate scientists, educators and advocates who have defended Australia's oceans for 50 years.

Digital Communications Officer

Use your digital communications skills to make a real difference for our Great Barrier Reef and Australia’s oceans - supporting powerful national campaigns such as Fight For Our Reef, Stop Adani and Save Our Sanctuaries.

If you are a dynamic and effective communicator who thrives in a fast paced, collaborative environment then this is the job for you.

  • Location: AMCS National Office, Brisbane (preferred)
  • Salary: Dependant on skills and experience + 10% superannuation
  • Hours: Full Time (38 hours per week)
  • Contract period: Initial one year contract, with a view to extension.

Community Organiser, Fight For Our Reef

Our Great Barrier Reef needs you. Make a difference as you work to secure the protection of Australia’s most famous natural icon. As AMCS’s Brisbane Community Organiser for our Fight For Our Reef campaign, your job is to be a catalyst for change – building the movement for the protection of the Great Barrier Reef.

  • Location: AMCS National Office, Brisbane.
  • Salary: Dependant on skills and experience + 10% superannuation
  • Hours: Full Time (38 hours per week), some evening and weekend work is required.
  • Contract period: Contract until 31 December 2018.

The position works closely with other members of the AMCS team based in Brisbane and regional Queensland, campaign partners, and other environmental NGOs.

Marine Campaign Coordinator (Northern Territory)

Top end oceans need your help! Make a real difference as you help to protect some of the last unspoilt tropical waters remaining in the world. As the Australian Marine Conservation Society’s Marine Campaign Coordinator your job is to be a catalyst for change – building support for the protection of the Top End’s marine environment.

  • Location: Darwin.
  • Salary: Dependent on skills and experience. 
  • Hours: Full time (38 hours/week), some weekend and out of hours work required.
  • Contract period: This is a 20 month contract, from January 2018 through to September 30 2019. It is envisaged this contract will be extended, subject to funding.
