Elise Springett

Great Barrier Reef Community Campaigner

Location: Cairns

Elise is an avid ocean lover who has worked in Environmental Education, and Marine Tourism for the past decade. Elise has been privileged to experience the wonders of Australia’s coral reefs on both the West and East coast, working as Whaleshark Guide on the spectacular Ningaloo Reef and Dive Instructor/Trip Director on the Great Barrier Reef. Her passion for the Reef is the reason Elise now calls Cairns in Tropical Far North Queensland home, and has chosen to raise her young family there.

Elise has been involved in the movement to tackle climate change and Fight For Our Reef for since she first heard of mass coral bleaching in 2016, however, the birth of her daughter was a pivotal turning point in her involvement and she decided to make climate action her career!

Elise now works daily to unite her community and raise crucial awareness about the impacts of climate change on the future of our Reef and our children.

Elise has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, Archaeology and Anthropology, from the Australian National University and has volunteered extensively with Australian Parents For Climate Action, a background which has shown her first hand the power of people to unite and push for change.
