Minister, reject Clive Palmer’s damaging coal mine

Clive Palmer-owned Central Queensland Coal wants to build a colossal coal mine just 10 km from the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.

Government-appointed scientists have warned of “significant and irreversible damage” to precious Reef ecosystems if this reckless coal mine goes ahead, and the QLD Department of Environment and Science has found the project “not suitable” to proceed.

Approving any new coal mines in the middle of a climate crisis that’s caused marine heatwaves to wreak havoc on our Reef and oceans is unacceptable. Approving an open cut coal mine 10 km from the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area would be unforgivable.

Add your voice today to urge federal environment minister Sussan Ley to listen to the scientific experts and say no to this damaging project.
