Back a renewable future that supports the ocean, communities, and the shift to viable energy alternatives.
Help AMCS ensure a rapid, informed transition to viable commercial renewable alternatives that protect oceans, empower communities, integrate First Nations’ voices, and keep environmental values at their heart.
Climate change is the single greatest threat to our ocean, and a rapid transition to renewable energy is essential.
Offshore wind development has a crucial role to play in this rapid transition. But the potential impact of building in our oceans is understandably causing significant concern in coastal communities and the broader public.
This genuine concern is currently being weaponised by political actors looking to delay the renewable energy transition.
Australia’s oceans are biodiverse, globally significant, and culturally important, especially to First Nations people.
As a trusted voice for the ocean, AMCS has an essential role to play in supporting a rapid, informed and just transition to renewable energy that protects nature, empowers communities, and fosters collaboration.
In 2026 we are seeking funding to keep ocean protection front of mind in the renewable energy transition. Your support will help us ensure:
- Governments step up to coordinate and direct priority research immediately, giving communities access to trusted information to make well informed decisions.
- Environmental values are embedded at the centre of decision making, supported by robust and transparent information.
- First Nations people are supported to determine their own involvement in decision-making.
- The regulatory frameworks effectively protect nature in renewable energy developments.
- Government assessments and approvals prioritise renewable energy, with streamlined processes and adequate funding for timely evaluations.

All donations over $2 are 100% tax-deductible. The projects featured in the Funding Prospectus are priority campaign activities and needs for which we are urgently seeking funds – current at the time of posting or going to press. As time progresses, there may be some cases in which the project you have selected may already be fully funded. In that instance, we would be delighted to discuss where the need is greatest at the given time. All of our campaigns work in symbiotic support of our mission to protect our oceans. Please be assured your gift will go to work to be the voice for Australia’s oceans, working on the big issues that risk our ocean wildlife.
