ABOUT AMCS

We are the voice of Australia’s oceans, the leading national charity dedicated solely to the sea and marine life that call it home. AMCS is staffed by a committed group of scientists, educators and passionate advocates who have defended Australia’s oceans for over 55 years working across a broad range of issues facing our environment.

OUR WORK

AMCS advocate for real, evidence based solutions – educating, campaigning and lobbying the government to enact change. This has resulted in protecting critical ocean ecosystems, including Ningaloo and the Great Barrier Reef, banning whaling, stopping supertrawlers, and protecting threatened and endangered species.
