Email the PM - Stop funding Coal!
The Turnbull Government has given provisional approval for handing out $1 billion of taxpayers’ money to build a rail line to Adani’s controversial Carmichael coal mine. Next, his government has backed a $100 billion target for expanding Australia's coal industry - right after a horror year for our oceans because of global warming!
To stop the Carmichael mega-mine from becoming a reality and move away from the coal that is fuelling global warming, we need a public backlash.
Send Prime Minister Turnbull an email making it clear that Adani’s Carmichael coal mine, Abbott Point coal terminal and rail link are a threat to our Reef and should not go ahead, let alone be given special treatment in the form of a billion taxpayer dollars.

Dear Prime Minister Turnbull,
I don't support increasing investment in the coal industry, and I don't support the Carmichael coal mine. I want Australia to do its part to stop the global warming that is killing our Reef and our marine life, not invest in one of the greatest contributors to global warming.
2016 was the hottest year on record for Australia's oceans. It led to severe coral bleaching followed by the death of nearly one quarter of all the corals in the Great Barrier Reef (mostly in the northern third), loss of vital kelp forests in Western Australia, mass death of oysters and abalone around Tasmania, and the death of 10,000 hectares of mangroves across Northern Australia.
During the election you said there would be no public funding for Adani's controversial Carmichael coal mine. Taxpayer’s money should be invested in the protection of the Great Barrier Reef and renewable energy for the future - not propping up a billionaire's project that could destroy the Reef.
Thanks for speaking up for our Great Barrier Reef, our climate and the Australian families who rely on our environment to sustain their livelihoods.
