Reject the WA shark cull

Earlier this year, Federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt used an exemption in the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act intended for matters of national security to allow the Western Australian shark cull to proceed on a temporary basis.

The WA Government has now applied for federal approval to extend their shark cull
for three years.

The WA Government's shark cull intends to kill great white sharks, which are protected under federal environment laws.

The shark cull is a scientifically baseless and ineffective policy. It won't increase public safety but it will have a heavy environmental cost.

Use the form below to make a submission to the Commonwealth Department of Environment, asking them to reject the shark cull.
